You know when you’re just like a kangaroo caught in headlights? Here’s a picture to aid you explain that feeling to others.
Today I’ve been cruising on this sheer beauty. The wheels are tiny, it has one gear and neither the bell nor brakes work but, I have to say, every moment is pure joy. Speeds in excess of 10mph can be reached. To stop, one peddles backwards and an almighty grunt is heard. You sit low and ride far back, the handlebars are high and your smile is wide. Bliss!
Friday 2nd October. Boom!
Hope City Church Birmingham finally left the ground on the aforementioned date! We have been planning, dreaming, praying and working for a fair few months and finally we’re rocking!
It’s has just felt like the City of Birmingham has been waiting for us. A team of around 40 people have spent hours flyering, postering and meeting people getting the word out and we had been amazed at how many people have shown a genuine interest. But then the night itself we literally did not know what to do with all the people! There were people sat and standing in the aisles, on the stage and the parallel corridor was no different! Our best estimate was that there were over 100 people from Birmingham there, and good old Hope City rent-a-crowd brought us up to over 250!
The atmosphere was electric and as the crowd celebrated the vision of God impacting a city and changing lives. The presence of God was immense and the atmosphere was charged with faith. It didn’t feel like the vision of a few people, rather a corporate confident expectation with a willingness to give of themselves to grow the church.
I am still beaming and will continue to beam as I know the journey has just begun but what lies ahead is so good. I cannot wait to establish amazing relationships with those who God has already brought and to see many many many people’s lives changed by the message of Hope!
Jobs eh? What am I going to give the best hours of the best years of my life to?
For the last two months I’ve been battling over what to apply for! I’ve been like, “gotta make a decision”, but all my half ideas I’ve just not wanted to do and so now time is ebbing away and urgency is settling in.
My revelation as of today is this, Proverbs 2:9, ‘…you will find the right way to go.’
I’ve been trying to work back from the ultimate destiny of Aidan Roberts and therefore not settling on anything. Now, I’m trusting and going with the best thing I can right now in faith in God that because I’m practicing His wisdom I will ‘find the right way to go.’
When I’m on the payroll - you’ll know y’all.
As you can see I experimented with uploading photos from my phone by adding some of my faves. Little did I know that my phone was shortly to require sending off for repair, being placed in grave danger of having it’s memory wiped clean. Gratitude is knowing the memory of this historic and rare defeat of Sats will not be lost.
The Parachute Band are awesome. Here they are comfortably trusting their chauffeur (me) to do his job. They were late.
